The Malt Shovel is open for business again - we have a freshly-refurbished beer garden at the back of the pub, as well as a brand new al fresco menu! As the weather gets warmer and the indoor areas re-open, we do expect to be busy, so we recommend that you book in advance - you can use our bookings page to reserve a table.
If you are booking outside, although we do have various covered and heated areas in our beer garden, we recommend that you still wrap up warm, especially if you are coming later in the day!

When you first come in, please be aware that every customer must register their details for contact tracing purposes (not just one person per group, as the rule was previously). You can do this either on paper or with the NHS app on your phone.
We can currently take bookings for outdoor tables of up to 6 people. Please remember that you should remain seated at your own table (except to use the toilets) and not mix with other tables. Bookings may be limited to 3 hours at busy times.
By law, we can only offer table service for now - you can either order from a member of staff, or order online via our webshop (you can access this by scanning the QR code on your table). Please note that the webshop may be turned off at busy times.
